Your data

We collect a small amount of personal data such as, but not limited to, name, phone number, email address and bank details to enable us to create an account on Get My Slice, authenticate you into the app, communicate with you and to make payments to you. We give each user profile a randomly generated alpha-numeric tag which we use as an identifier. When you engage with 3rd party sites and apps via Get My Slice, neither your personal details nor your profile ID is shared. However, there may be occasions where you might be asked to provide some information to the brands via the Get My Slice app but these will be clearly labelled. Please note we do not take responsibility for any information you enter on 3rd party websites (typically when you make a  purchase, think name, phone, email address etc).

We allow you to link some 3rd party digital profiles within the Get My Slice App, please be aware that we do not store your login credentials. With your profiles linked, the app then tries to collect your profile, interest and activity data from the 3rd parties and store this information. This data is mapped to your unique ID. The activity data consists of items such as websites visited, searches performed, interest areas, advertising segments and other such information that relates to what these 3rd parties deem valuable with regard to monetisation. This is the data that is then mapped to thousands of marketing segments; these marketing segments are what powers the Get My Slice personalisation engine on the Get My Slice app. Brands then offer users incentives (payments, discounts, cashback) to participate in an offer (sign up/purchase/enquire). No footprint or personal data is ever shared with brands, the only way data is shared is if you consent to providing your information by entering your information on the brands own website/app (3rd party).

We limit access to your personal data for genuine business purposes only. By entering your information on the brands own website/app, you authorise for the processing and sharing of personal information by 3rd parties who have a duty to act under confidentiality.

You can stop using our services at any time by uninstalling the Get My Slice app.

Change of purpose

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose.

If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

We will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Note that this right only applies to automated information which you initially provided consent for us to use or where we used the information to perform our services to you.

However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent.

If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please update your account preferences.

‍Cookies Policy

We collect data about how you interact with our website through the use of cookies. Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer if you agree. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. You can find out more information about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org. We use cookies to enhance the online experience of our visitors and to better understand how our Site is used. Cookies may tell us, for example, whether you have visited our site before or whether you are a new visitor. They can also help to ensure that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests. When you browse the Site, we automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site.

All the information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies on your browser we will not know when our customers visited our site, and will not be able to improve its performance.

Advertising

Cookies are widely used in online advertising. Neither us, advertisers or our advertising partners can gain personally identifiable information from these cookies. They will be used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

You can learn more about online advertising at http://www.youronlinechoices.com. You can opt-out of almost all advertising cookies at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices. It is also worth noting that opting out of advertising cookies will not mean you won’t see adverts, just simply that they won’t be tailored to you any longer.

Remarketing Cookies

You may notice that sometimes after visiting a website you see increased numbers of adverts from the site you visited. This is because advertisers, including ourselves, pay for these adverts. The technology to do this is made possible by cookies, and as such, we may place a so-called “remarketing cookie” during your visit. We use these adverts to offer targeted messages to encourage you to come back to our site. However, we are unable to proactively reach out to you as the whole process is entirely anonymised and you can opt-out of these cookies at any time as explained above and below.

Social Website Cookies

These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the website to enable you to share our content with your friends and other networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other websites and building up a profile of your interests. This may therefore impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.

The privacy implications on this will vary from social network to social network and will be dependent on the privacy settings you have chosen on these networks.

When do our cookies expire?

Except for essential cookies, most of the cookies on our websites expire at the end of your current session on our website. However, some of our cookies have an extended lifespan which ranges from 1 day to 28 days.

Turning Cookies Off

You can usually switch cookies off by adjusting your browser settings to stop it from accepting cookies. Doing so, however, will likely limit the functionality of both our and a large proportion of the world’s websites as cookies are a standard part of most modern websites.

Amending cookies setting in different types of browser:

It may be that your concern around cookies relates to so-called “spyware”. Rather than switching off cookies in your browser, you may find that anti-spyware software achieves the same objective by automatically deleting cookies considered to be invasive.
